What is angular cheilitis? Sores at the corners of the mouth are an undesirable sight. But, if you have ever had chapped lips , you will understand that the pain associated with angular cheilitis is multiplied by ten. You can’t speak easily, you can’t take large bites of food, and you certainly can’t shout.

1. Olive oil

Olive oil is both an antibacterial and a moisturizer, it is ideal for treating this inflammation at the corners of the lips . Apply a little warm olive oil to the inflamed area. It will treat the condition faster than you thought. Make sure to apply the oil twice a day.

2. Coconut oil

It’s one more ingredient that you won’t have trouble finding. Dab coconut oil on the reddish, dry area in the corner of your mouth , as often as desired. 3. Lemon

Remember to always have lemons in your refrigerator. Fight the infection in the corners of the mouth by rubbing lemon juice there. These painful cracks should heal quickly . Drink lemon juice to boost your immunity.

4. Honey

This sweet liquid is one of the most effective home remedies for angular cheilitis as long as it is real honey . Apply the honey generously all over the inflamed part of the corner of the mouth. Leave on for 15 minutes to let its antifungal and antibacterial magic work. Kids would love this remedy.

5. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera gel has multiple uses. For the skin it is extremely soothing. Similarly, the gel can relieve the pain of angular cheilitis while alleviating its symptoms. Gently massage the cool gel onto the affected area and leave on for 15 minutes. Apply 3 times daily for faster relief. You can also use it on chapped lips.

6. Cocoa butter

Cocoa butter is an excellent natural moisturizer. Manage excessive dryness around the mouth with the application of cocoa butter. Apply it 3 times a day to keep your lips hydrated.

7. Cucumber

Thanks to its soothing effects, find a smile with a cucumber. Hold a slice of cucumber over the inflamed area for a while, several times a day. This will moisturize the fissures and relieve the pain .

8. Baking soda

About twice a day, mix some water with baking soda and apply the paste to the affected area. Rinse 5 minutes later. Then moisturize the area. This way you disinfect the inflammation and relieve the stinging pain at the edge of your lips .

9. Drink water

Dehydration is a major factor that causes cracked lips and even worsens the infection. Drink 10 glasses of water every day, taking frequent sips to avoid dryness around the mouth. (read here to know how much water should we drink each day )

10. Homemade lip balm

Make your own lip balm by mixing Vaseline and a little tea tree oil. They are excellent for healing the painful fissures of angular cheilitis ( 2 ). Alternatively, just dab Vaseline on the affected area as often as possible.
