Unless your entire wedding meal takes place standing up in cocktail dinner mode (a choice of formula that is quite rare) you will have to offer your D-Day guests tables and chairs to be able to enjoy the dishes that will be offered to them during dinner. But what happens when we’re married? Where to sit in the table plan ? Should we decide on a head table and sit there? Where to place the table of the newlyweds / brides? Reserve a table just for us? Are there other solutions or ideas that can be considered (of course!). In this article, we explain the different choices you have, as the bride and groom, to enjoy your wedding meal, at which table.

THE BRIDE AND GROOM CAN EAT AT THE HEAD TABLE

This is the most common option: the couple decides to create a table with their wedding witnesses and close friends. 2 places are reserved for them and therefore assigned. The chairs can be decorated with pretty wooden signs such as “Bride” & “Groom” or “Husband” and “Wife” (or wife and wife etc…).

Advantages: Having a head table is always rewarding for the loved ones present throughout the preparations. It’s a nice way to thank them for their support. It’s always nice to be seated at the wedding table, it’s classy 🙂

We present to you the partners of the blog, the rest of your article just below:

Disadvantages: As it is customary for the bride and groom to go from table to table to chat with their guests during the meal, your chairs will remain empty most of the time, except when you return to eat.

A DEDICATED TABLE FOR THE NEWLYWED COUPLE

Do you want to have a quiet dinner and be able to calmly enjoy this moment so that you can find yourself? So why not reserve a table just for the two of you? Yes it is happening! And for it to be noticed, you can also make a table decoration that throws!

Advantages: You will be able to find yourself alone with your darling and fully enjoy the dinner. Plus if you get up to see your guests, no one will be left without an empty chair to talk to 🙂

Disadvantages: You have to make sure to eat at the same pace so that no one is left alone while the other is away chatting with the guests. You are already going to spend the rest of your days dining more or less alone, so why not enjoy the party?

PLACES FOR THE BRIDE AND GROOM AT EACH TABLE

The appetizer at the table of friends and girlfriends, the starter at the table of childhood friends, the main course at the table of parents, the cheese at the table of cousins, the dessert at the table of adults -parents… you reserve 2 extra seats at each table so that you can do your rounds during dinner.

Advantages: you will see a little bit of everyone and it’s a fairly original formula, not yet seen and reviewed too much and which will therefore delight your guests.

Cons: Your caterer can quickly come to hate you if they have to chase you all evening. Moreover, this implies that there will be a gap of two people at each table for the majority of the meal.

A ROLLING TABLE

Here is a last option, super original, which a reader of the blog told us about: for her wedding meal, she had planned for her and her darling a wedding table but on wheels. Thus, the couple was able to “graft” their table to the other tables as the meal progressed. A compromise between all the options seen before.
